Atom bank does 5 years fixed 2.40% or you could invest in bonds, index trackers, ETFs, Blended funds, shares etc, depends on how much risk you are willing to take.

Personally I'd play it safe and put 180k into a fixed interest account and the rest into a global index tracker or blended fund, how long is it until they need the money?

What’s the age limitations on a NS&I term deposit? For the risk profile they look okay at the moment.

Thank you. Atom bank - they need to be 18+. This is the problem I'm encountering. There is very little available for youngsters.

I'm not sure where my initial post has gone!??

I'll take a look at that suggestion - thank you.

I also found that HL do a Junior Investment Account. This money is already theirs (a distribution from a Trust that was wound up 5 years ago) and is in their own current accounts (£200k in total), so I'm not quite sure I follow the bit about setting up a Trust for them. I don't think it matters though?

It is always better to keep the money in a trust. There is no charge for this and it is a very simple part of the application process. No lawyers are needed.

For example, when you put money into a SIPP you are putting it into a trust.
