Project 993 long nose back date...
Discussion
Currently looking for my donor car, for a long nose 993 build.
Over the last number of years I have done a number of restorations and rebuilds and the normal 964/993 upgrade stuff.
The next project is a back date, build on likely a C4 manual car, something Cat D or C would not be a bad starting point and will reduce the build cost.
Either a wide body car or narrow body car will suit.
it will all be repaneled anyway, all the interior will be changed as will the suspension.
it should be an interesting journey and build, as ever the starting point is find the donor car....

A long nose build on a 964/993 ?? That sounds interesting - A sort of proper old school look on a relatively new model..964 seems the normal route,
would be very keen to see it take place on a 993......
Good luck finding a decent donor car That may prove as challenging as the build ... Although noticing your varied open mindedness to model/spec etc
shouldn't be too difficult
keep thread open on progress

The problem with using a 993 as a starting point may be more difficult than you realise. The 993 inner wings are shorter in height than a 964 or 911. You would need to find backdate wings made especially for the 993.The 964 is a much better starting point
^^^^^^^^what this man said. 964 would be simpler but if you have the time and the skills hey ho

Dont you mean the 964 is shorter,by a fair bit.most have to make fillets to fit on the inner wings, its a huge difference and normaly a total bodge.I had a 964 rs clubsport once that had a 993 body kit on it,total mess.So the 993 can be cut down, but it does not end there!Gassing Station | Porsche Classics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
