Skoda Octavia Estate vRS or Skoda Superb Estate SEL Exec

I'm finding it hard to choose between the 2 cars Skoda Octavia Estate vRS 184PS TDI manual or Skoda Superb Estate SEL Executive DSG 150 PS TDI.

I work as a field engineer sometimes driving long distances so will need a car with a 500 litre boot size or bigger which these 2 cars have. I'm not to bothered about MPG but more interested in CO2 emissions for tax purposes.

What car would you choose and why?

Superb - mainly because its DSG and more comfortable over longer distances

As above - Superb - DSG and a much more comfortable suspension set up.

As above. The Superb is much more refined than the Octy and for high miles I wouldn’t go manual. Auto and adaptive cruise in the Superb makes for a very relaxing drive.

I drive a manual Octavia vRS TDi estate, I am also an engineer and do a lot of travelling. I've had it 3 years on lease and I'm returning it in 2 weeks, having done 53,000 miles. It's a superb (no pun) drive, very comfortable (people have always commented on how comfortable it is) over distances although with the 19" wheels on it's a bit bumpy, on a long motorway run that's not a problem, and will return 60+ MPG easily.

The Superb I've been in as a passenger on numerous occasions, and it is cavernous (I was a police special, the dog units had these, the cages in the back were full length with the rear seats down and honestly you could lie in them). It was very comfortable too. It felt gutless by comparison to the vRS in a straight line, but it was the 4WD version and offered great grip (so I was told by the driver).

Long term, the vRS been super reliable, and I'd have another one if I didn't have my heart set on an RS4 Avant
