I've been partaking of a good few soups lately, especially now the Beast from the East is in full swing. Both tinned and home made. My preference is for hearty thick soup, none of that consommé for me. What do you enjoy or can recommend to add to my list to try?

Butternut squash with a bit of spice. Can’t go wrong makes a lovely thick soup.

French onion for sure. Make sure you cook lots of onions very slowly until they are mahogany brown

I've just finished off a batch of Turkey soup made from a stock from the Turkey carcass, then potatoes and carrots cooked in the stock and blended together and finished off with the left over turkey shredded into the soup.

Curried parsnip is also a winner with parsnip crisps for garnish, Use a potato peeler to make thin strips and deep fry yummy

Going to try a tin of Heinz tomato and chorizo for lunch today with a dash of double cream. I've always had a soft spot for Heinz tomato soup even though it bears no relationship to any form of tomatoes ;-)

Got into making soup recently, don't know why I haven't sooner really!

So far I've made spiced celeriac (done this a few times, it's getting more spicy each time!)

Curried carrot (might do this over the weekend again)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/curried_carrot_...

and leek (not leek and potato)

Been a hit with the veggie girlfriend too.

Another vote for curried parsnip. I drop little cubes of cheddar in so they melt.
