My trusty old XBox360 has kept me happy playing Skyrim, Farcry, COD and the likes.

I have recently got into Fortnite Battle Royale and I watch lots of videos from Youtubers like Ali-A. I only have this game on my under powered laptop on minimum resolution and jerky game play which is driving me mad.

Therefore, I am finally going to get a new console which will play Fortnite with decent resolution and speed.

I'm presuming it makes more sense to stick with XBox so that i can keep playing my old games (backwards compatible, right?)

Is there any benefit in me getting a One X over a One S? I don't have a 4K TV, so is there any advantage in the X? Does it make games run with a faster frame rate or anything?

Also, is there any reason why I might want to switch to PS4 for this? I heard Ali-A plays PS4 Pro and doesn't get on with XBox for some reason. Something to do with the controller being better?

Get the xbox s, I find the PlayStation controller difficult to use after having an Xbox for long.

Fortnight on the xbox is full of kids though!

Is it worth me spending more to get the One X over the One S if I don't have a 4K TV?

Would the X give me better/faster graphics over the S even on a standard HD TV?

Yes, you'll get a higher FPS on an X than the S when playing Fortnite.

Also, you'll doubtless be getting a 4k TV at some point so see it as a long term thing (i won't say investment as you'll not be getting the money back!).

Fortnite looks amazing after the recent patch and plays very well. I'd probably go as far as to say it's the smoothest running of the games with an X enhancement patch.

One X games also load significantly faster.

if you can afford it, go for the One X. With technology like this, it's always best to get the best bang for your buck. The normal Xbox Ones are still a great console, but the X blows it out the computer and has a much longer shelf life.

Don't listen to them. XBox is for losers.

I do remember starting a fight on the School bus when my mate Chris said that the Sega Megadrive was better than the SNES.

He backed down after a quick pull of his hair. His "Ammm I'm telling Miss" threats were hollow and the SNES retained the crown that morning.

For fortnite the one S and one X as well as the original xbox one all now run at 60fps, the one X will have significantly faster load times and higher draw distance, handy for seeing things in the distance!

For 1080p TV's the one X will have supersampling to improve the picture over the one S.

The one X will also enhance 360 titles too, theres a list on the microsoft site, just google 'Xbox one X enhanced titles'

I have an original Xbox One and a Xbox One X.

I'd buy another X if my original died, it's a vast improvement.
