Yes, another "junior supercar" thread smile

Since it's nearing it's production run, there will be some nice discounts... Conveniently, I will be changing my company car at the end of the year. Does anyone have any experience with the xdrive variant? On paper it looks like a 991 C4 for a third of the price wink

I didn't know there was an xDrive version of the M140i

Junior Supercarsmilesmile

I'd be speaking through gritted teeth to even suggest it's a Junior M, but that's the best you'll get.

If true to form, that would make the M5/6 Hypercars.

To answer the original question though, i've no idea as have only ever owned one non M BMW & that was an M-Sport (basically what the M140 is) & never driven a non X variant AWD BMW.

for me X-drive dulls the steering to a point where i don't like it compared to the rwd version. I dont see the attraction of an x-driver version myself.....if you want good winter performance it will be more than capable on the correct tyres.

Given all the weather we have recently had, I think that RWD is absolutely fine in the UK. I have been fine in a knackered old loan 1 series with Rapid P609 (ditchfinders) on the rears, even in the worst of the weather!

The "junior supercar" is a long story, when 135i was new and hyped on this forum... An inside joke smile

I live outside UK. Local journalists love the xdrive variant, but I don't really trust their opinions...

Ah, then this unfortunately probably isn't the best site to find out about the car. I'm interested to find out that there is an xDrive version - I'd like to try one too

I recall the junior supercar thread - I think the poster was hyping the 135 over a Golf R and described it thus.

The xDrive variant was tested against the Golf R by Auto Motor and Sport at the time, as well as the S3. Given that BMW seem to keen to push xDrive I was surprised that it never came here. As I recall, though, the Golf won that test, narrowly beating the BM.

All the comparison tests I've seen against Golf R / S3 were won by the BMW. It doesn't understeer like the haldex bunch at the limit apparently.

Apparently it doesn’t physically fit in a RHD setup with the 3L engine.
You can obviously get xdrive but in a 120d for example (my brother has one).
