Hi Guys

First post so please be gentle!!

I have done a search on the forum and cannot find anything recent so thought I would ask a more up to date question!

My clutch on my 1.8TDCI Mk IV Mondeo has started to make a rattle - 92k on clock so I am suspecting the DMF is preparing its exit!!

Been having a look on line at the cost of obtaining the relevant parts. I would guess that as the work is being carried out that it would be best to change the clutch at the same time as the DMF, so in anticiapation of this been looking to give an idea of cost on Eurocar Parts.

A LUK Clutch Kit is £355 which is 3 piece in CSC - the DMF on same site is £360 for a Sachs one and £435 for a LUK one.

So without labour I am looking at a min of £715 or have I got this completely wrong and the Clutch Kit will do. I have looked on another site (Nationwide Clutch Distributors UK) and they are specifying the box contains the following: -Dual mass flywheel (LUK), clutch pressure plate (LUK), clutch driven plate (LUK), hydraulic concentric clutch slave cylinder release bearing - all for £350!!

So a little confused and was hoping anyone could help - which option do I go for or should I be looking at?? If I am looking at £715 plus labour may have to consider car change!

Thanks in advance and please forgive the stupid question if I am being a bit senile!!!

Cheers

Matt

Let me think about this........... Full kit for £715 or full kit for £350.......... What was the question again?

A full kit is just that 3 parts csc, driven plate, cover plate, you still need the DMF added

It looks like you need to think some more - Then again someone else like the above poster that is prepaired to help will be along shortly

Thank you Sardonicus for clarifying that the 3 piece does not include the DMF. That’s what I was after - just to make sure I wasn’t losing the plot!! 😁😁

Have a good gander on the bayofE ,there seem to be loads on there that include the DMF,
I bought a kit for my Sportwagon direct from Italy, genuine Valeo, 4 day delivery, was exactly as per OEM . Saved £200ish

The OP said, and I quote......

That includes the DMF according to what he said.

How am I to know he was told incorrectly.

Oh, and by the way it is spelled prepared.

full kits with dmf, clutch and bearing are sub 300ish or there abouts

expect same again for labour.

Maybe worth seeing what you are quoted for the full job from a garage as if it has any issues they cannot blame your parts....

Edit: there are different kits for 5 and 6 speed also

Be very careful with that listing it shows the DMF as a Sachs but it dont show the clutch components as Sachs (look at the pics) or a recognised brand may well be a recon etc and I would avoid if so frown would be worth asking at that price for all that kit scratchchin personally I smell a rat and Techniclutch have history and not a good one , sorry putting a dampener on things but I am in the trade and skeptical at the best of times getmecoat
