30mph repeater roundels
Discussion
Straight forward question that I thought of as I was driving through a local 30mph section today.
We have a road here in north Wales that swaps a couple of times between 30mph and 40mph sections, but has repeaters painted on the road at the (I assume) legally required separation. However virgin have been and dug up the road and the trench left behind when they've finished goes straight through the roundel removing the 3 or 4.
This is also a regular site for a safety partnership (speed camera) van.
So my question is, does the defacement/removal of the roundel have any effect on the legality of the section and any tickets?
By the way I wasn't speeding and don't have a ticket, as I am all too aware of the possibility of getting caught by the van, but just wondered as this is a blackspot and I'd rather any tickets given couldn't be cancelled due to a technicality.
