I've just sold my Smart car and as much as I love the car, if anything goes wrong with Smarts, they are very expensive to fix and as you can imagine, they're not the most practical of car (you can't drive one when it's windy haha).

As stated in the title, I'm looking for suggestions. I'm looking for a car which;

-Is small and has a small bonnet (or one that you can see where it ends). Yes, I'm weird, I get it.
-Has 4+ seats
-Automatic
-Cheap insurance and tax
-Under £3000

Something like a Toyota Aygo (C1 or 107), but just wanting a few more ideas smile

Thanks!

My mother in law has a Suzuki Splash which is a brilliant little car, hers is a 1.0 petrol manual but they do a 1.2 auto. Ditto its sister car the Vauxhall Agila. Should be able to get one in budget comfortably and they're very roomy inside.

Also check out the Hyundai i10, Daihatsu Charade and Suzuki Alto.

My mum drive a toyota aygo 2010 and that fits your description. I borrowed it for a while when my car was off the road, it really wasn't that bad except for being painfully slow. mind you having owned a smart you should be used to that biggrin

If you can find one, the nearest thing to a Smart with 4 seats that isn't a Smart would be a Mitsubishi i. 660cc engine under the boot floor, rear drive, automatic, 4 seats, no bonnet. Later relaunched as an electric car i-miev.

How about the Honda Jazz ? £3k gets you a 2005-2008 era and nearly half of the automatic ones I've seen appear to be 1 elderly owner and have mileages around 50k-70k leaving plenty of life in them!

If you do end up doing a few longer journeys and or motorway trips you will certainly appreciate the Jazz over the Aygo/C1

I'm driving one of these at the moment...really highly recommend it.

Great level of spec for a cheap car, a proper auto box (unlike an aygo/c1/107 which will simply break around 40k) four big seats and
a good boot plus it drives really well.

Far superior to a Smart, C1/Aygo or anything else around £3000
