One of the issues for me and probably many of the Wedge owners is noise. Cadwell limit is 105dB. My 350i is at 115dB and my 390SE is 122dB. Some circuits are lenient when it comes to noise (Prescott for example) however others are not. Given previous issues with neighbours at Cadwell I'm guessing that they will be very strict on noise so I wouldn't want to have a three and a half hour drive over there only to be refused a run.

Mine fails 105dB(A) at the front, let alone the rear....

I have used a track day silencer many times to reduce noise level (needed at Zolder and some other circuits). It replaced the chrome finishing part of the 400SE tail pipe when on track. Mine was supplied many years ago by ? Tower View Services? who are no longer in business, but there will be others that can provide.
A simple add on silencer for the track can let you participate in a "noisy" car with only a slight restriction of Max power.
Go for it - it is good fun!

Hamish

My orange wedge has no cats the original silencer and although it is loud it is a deep growl which has passed all the tests at several tracks including the javalin sprints I did year before last I did make some track day baffles just in case but never been used normally around the 100 dB I think it is the type of sound as much as anything some hot hatches sound a good deal less noisy but struggle to pass.

As most of the wedges make a great (and loud) sound, why not book for the Rockingham Track day we have organised in August, there is no sound limit, be as loud as you want!

Its open to both TVRCC members and non-members, its £180 with a £20 surcharge for non-members to cover the admin and other additional costs.

See the posts on Facebook or the club website or email me for more information.

It will be a great day out, and be worth seeing & hearing too, its not often we get so many loud cars in one place.

Cheers

Richard
