Seat Ibiza TDI sport
Discussion
Hi all,
Long time lurker first-time poster.
So I needed a "new" car. the car previous to this was 1.6 16v Astra G with the crustiest bodywork ever and the most uneconomical car I have ever owned *sub 25mpg* this was killing me for work as I drive 60 Miles a day at least for work alone.
so I decided to turn to the darkside... TDI
this is it. a 2007 Seat Ibiza 6L 1.9 TDI PD100 with 1 owner from new and a full-service history for just above "shed money"

what do I think of it? Well after a week of ownership I love it, returns over 45MPG always. nippy/quick enough everyday driving.
as all second-hand cars of this age, it needs a slight bit of work.
it needs:
passenger door module doesn't unlock the door with the keys and the door handle itself has little resistance
slight rust on passenger side arch (a common problem of VAGS of this era)
The cup holder is stuck in
needs a general tidy up
Future plans?
A remap, EGR delete as I heard these can be troublesome on these engines, and some new wheels just to smarten it up.
im all open to suggestions and advice

I run it's brother as a daily (fabia) honestly don't think they can be beaten for the money they fetch these days. It'll go well with a remap. Being an 07 it may have an egr cooler fitted. These are common for leaking coolant into exhaust. Should get a sensible 140-150hp result from a map with a decent chunk of extra torque

Looks like a proper bargain. These respond well to a remap, 130ps will be within reach and will give it a nice midrange wallop.
Top shedding
I have been looking at maps and most seem to say between 140/150 .. just depends how the clutch lasts I suppose.Top shedding

all VAG TDI's of this range are very underrated IMO. I have looked into a dark side developments EGR delete as it has 2 blanking plates which loops the system I think. MJ85 said:
If important to you, engine cover is missing, too.
It's actually quite hard to find a seat TDI engineer cover for these. but it's on the list.smudgerebt said:

get a Pela pump and you can do the oil change DIY without having to mess about with ramps and undertrays. All done from the top.
Link for the Pela Pump? sounds like it would be 10x easier to do. does it go into the oil fill cap or into the filter?esmyth124 said:

Neither, it goes into the sump via the dipstick tube.http://www.pelapumps.co.uk
