Lightweight Work Boots Recommendations
Discussion
Hey folks.
As is in the title, I need a new set of work boots, I had a good set of Timberland Mudsills for years, but they where in my friends van when it was raided and burnt out. I've been working (multidrop delivery driver) in trainers ever since, but am sick to death of dropping stuff on my toes.
Tried to get a new set of my old ones but they appear to either be discontinued, or a US only model. I bought them on holiday for us$60. (Timberland 40008s)
Just looking for recommendations, rarely shop for shoes. My requirements being:
Low heel, prefer ankle mobility to support
Black (work dress code)
Lightweight
budget of £60ish
Cheers

You didn't say steel toe, but I'm assuming it couldn't hurt given your line of work. If you qualify for student discount or know someone who does I think you're eligible for further discount, too.

Aye, didn't mentioned a hard toe, don't really need a full on steel toe but a slightly hardened toe wouldn't go amiss. I do supermarket deliveries, so nothing dangerously heavy, but dropping my ~2kg tote pole right onto my toe of my 'breathable' puma hiking trainer does smart a bit.
To be honest I have never been a fan of Doc Martins, always found them to be too rigid. That being said I do like the look those Keadby boots, and I can get a student discount.

Don't know those particular Doc Martens, but worth checking the leather before you commit.
I have a pair of their black leather Chelsea boots which are pretty horrible to wear - the leather seems quite thin but not breathable. Feet feel cold when it's cold, and hot when it's hot. I have exactly the same size/style in waxy brown leather and they're great.
Following suggestions with interest as need roughly the same thing - smartish black boots for office environment that still work well if unexpectedly have to go outside for a day.

I have a god pair of Carhardt (however you spell it) boots that are pretty light. Don't know if they have an option to buy online.
A lot of my colleagues like Keen boots but I don't particularly like the look of them.
Given the right environment, I'd love to be able to get away with a pair of Ariat work boots. They look so cool, but I'm not a 6' texan working in an oil field, sadly, so I think I'd look a bit silly in them.

You mention boots but then say you like the freer movement of trainers. If all you need is toe and not mid sole protection these come well recommended.
