Cars that come with Adaptive cruise control as standard
Discussion
I'm in the market for a lease car, I'll be moving up from a 57 plate Honda Jazz, so literally any car is going to be leagues above it. I think I want adaptive cruise control but don't want to shell out for it as an expensive option - as far as I can tell the only brands that have this as standard are VW and Volvo (e.g. Golf or V90) and I think some Octavias do but I'm not 100% certain...
Can anyone think of any others and/or advise if ACC is as life changing as I expect it will be (bearing in mind I will be doing a lot of driving on dual carriage ways.
Cheers!

The ACC on the Golf range is very good, for the pricepoint. Pretty much drives itself, if you spec everything.
Disagree. It’s a bit too sensitive and takes too long to speed up again.I have it in a 2015 Skoda Superb and absolutely love it. Takes some getting used to, but once you have confidence then it's a real bonus on motorways and A roads.
There's no way I wouldn't have this on my next company car.
Set the ACC response to 'sport' and it quickly gets back to speed.

You can alter the response of the system within the OBC menus although it'll still fall on the side of safety/gentle progress; but I agree that in the 'economy/comfort' setting it is almost comical how long it takes to wake up and close gaps once the traffic in front speeds up.
Thank you. I hadn’t looked into that. The most useful PH post in a long time. It does make a journey more relaxing though. Factory sensitivity is more suited to motorway rather than duel carriage way.Teebs said:

I have had it on my Volvo XC60 - not standard on most models, but I agree it is now a "must have" for future vehicles - for both motorway and town driving, it is the most relaxing feature ever! There's no way I wouldn't have this on my next company car.

That said, I nearly didn't add it (personal car, not lease) - list was almost £2k as part of an option pack which included magic headlights that shade parts of the road where cars/bikes are. So glad I bought, they are both superb features!
I don't blindly let it do everything: if I see some tw@t about to pull into the gap, I may nudge it off, then back on a few seconds after they have made their move: the car naturally slowing down can stop the ACC braking a touch hard, but overall it is very very good at smooth driving!
I didn't think any cars had it "as standard", as in across the range....but once you get up the spec high enough I guess many may have it now.
