Morning All,

First time poster here,

I am picking up my VW Beetle 2002 model tomorrow,

The radio is the standard 'tape' radio.

I wanted to upgrade it to a radio with USB/Bluetooth. However I notice the slot/fascia is a little different on these cars.

I've watched quite a few you tube on the subject and think I could give it a go.

I wondered, is it just a case of buying a fascia kit and any radio I want or? Also would you think I could complete the job myself with a bit of effort ? Or should I just go to Halfords and get them to do the job from start to finish ?

Thanks for any advice!
Tabatha

might be worth speaking to a local auto/ICE electricians who could advise and sell you the parts needed for you to DIY it.

If you have patience you can do it yourself as well as the facia you might need a connector lead & maybe an aerial adaptor (dependent on what headunit you choose) to get the job done, go on youtube there's bound to be someone who's put up a walkthrough.

For example,

If I bought this, would I need to buy anything else?

Normally a Facia Adapter and some Adapter Cables from the VW Factory wiring to the New Radio

Quick Google .....

They also have an option to keep the Controls on the Steering Wheel working with the replacement Radio
