Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on this.

I have taken delivery of a pair of Seatbelt Guides for my Chimaera and had a quick go at fitting them, without success so far.
I have tried pulling the Headrest up and out... it slides up the Headrest Stock, reaches it's highest point and seems to hit a stop, and won't release any further.

As an alternative, the other option I tried, was removing the two screws that secure the Headrest to the Metal Bracket underneath it, but again no joy.

Can you offer any help on this please.

Thanks again.

I've had 2 x Chimaeras and in both cases, you just pull hard and the headrest will come out. There is a slot at the base of each top tube with a small piece of spring steel in it on mine. FYI they are not sided, they are the same in either seat. And the headrest tubes are 24cm long, so longer than you think.

Others have put on threads that there is a receptacle inside the seat but there wasn't on mine. The seats changed slightly after the first couple of years having a slightly wider squab and this may have been another change.

Here is a close up of what I described. It resists being pulled out but shouldn't prevent it.

The plate held on with 2 screws, as you've found out, not structural.

Just need to yank it up. Easier with the roof off.

The cover plate is just that, a cover plate hiding the stitching and making it look pretty.

I was doing exactly the same job a couple of weeks ago with exactly the same problem.
I found that they came out fairly easily if 'waggled' from left to right while at their top position.
Just pulling harder would work but you might lose the spring clip which would be a bugger to find.

Good luck ....

Worth also saying once you have them out you may find the two spring clip ears have been pushed back into the tube. You need to pull them back out again before re-fitting the headrests otherwise they won't latch in.

Had the same issue on my mk3.
Roof off and a wiggle as said above and they come off with a bit of persuasion.

I second making sure the tangs are reset prior to refitting.
