Looking for new car. Suggestions?

Hi, looking for suggestions on what car to get.

I am 18 and have own a mk6 fiesta zs tdci which I have enjoyed owning for the past year but am looking to get something else. I've been looking for months on what to get but can't decide. I only drive about 5 miles a day so don't need anything too sensible. I want a car that is quicker than mine and it doesn't need to be incredibly fast but enough to have fun. I quite like the go kart feel I get in mine too and want a car I can learn to work on over time. I did want a car I could take to the track every now and then but I might buy something else later in the year.

I don't have a specific budget. Depending on what car I get depends on how much I will spend on it so not a set budget. Also it needs to be reasonable on insurance. Alot of people think I'll only be able to insure a 1.2 without spending thousands but that isn't true.

You'll be surprised anything upto a 1.6 may be okay insurance wise but you need to workout a budget before anyone can give you meaningful advice.
