How NOT to write a For sale advert -PH classifieds

Fuel: Petrol

Dear oh Dear... all this advert says to me is "I know little about my car" and "I really don't have any interest in it either"

I think the PH readership knows enough about Chimaeras to know its a Sports/Convertible..

just looks like that part of the advert is taken from the ebay ad for the same car .. just done a copy and paste on that info .. what's wrong with the advert .. seems a good value chim to me. Is your life so small that you resort to poking fun at other people's adverts? how sad are you?

Not that sad at all thanks.. its a friday, the sun is shining, and I leave work in 1 hour. As for "resorting" to poking fun, this isn't a last resort, I'm just passing time thanks.. You really are becoming a misery at times these days Jools.

How many times do we see threads "what should I write in my advert" ? Well here is an example IN MY HUMBLE OPINION of how not to.. If you're not interested in the subject DONT COMMENT and if you are then DO COMMENT.. but don't just start personal attacks on someone you don't know. !

I think it details most of the things I'd want to know before I went and had a look. I seen worse adverts - where the seller chooses to omit most of the vital information, for instance.

OK if this seller thinks a swift cut'n'paste of some repeated information from some other advert elsewhere is the way to go, good for them. I trust they find themselves a buyer soon.

The only point I was trying to make (as someone who has bought Four cars from the classisifieds here) is that IMO that is not a good way to structure an advert for this sort of audience.

Presumably the writer of the advert thought that a PHer would buy on the condition of the car not the advert.

True... but there are a lot more sellers than buyers, its a very competetive market and every little helps.

No need to get agitated. I was just agreeing that it looked like a cut-and-paste from somewhere else.

Lazy, yes. But it wouldn't stop me from looking at the car.

Sorry.. just got a bit Narked at being branded "sad" for commenting on an Advert thats sat highlighted on the PH homepage at the moment

You post a pic of a wrecked Chimaera - in which it is quite likely to imagine that someone could have been hurt or worse - and I tell you I think you're sick. We all know what wrecks look like and we can google for new ones in the case that we suddenly forget. Posting pics of wrecks to start a thread has, in my view, no purpose. That's my opinion. I don't need everyone or anyone to agree or disagree with my opinion. I just expressed my opinion and I don't need to clarify or "qualify" it any further.

Whatever.. the very same pictures are also in the PH classifieds by the way.

Personally in the thread in question I would have posted something like what you just put here ^^^ and given your actual opinion, rather than just labelling me as "sick" in a one liner then falling silent. Still if thats your style..

But also I don't post on PH calling people "sad" and "sick" if I disagree with them but hey each to their own....
