I woke up on Monday to go to work to find somebody had crashed into my car scraping and denting the driver's door and causing £360 of damage.

I live on a quiet street which isn't a through-road, so you would imagine the culprit is local or a visitor to a local resident further on the road.

The road itself does narrow but where I park it's amply wide for a lorry to get down so there's really no excuse for damaging somebody's car and then driving off without leaving any details.

I'd really appreciate any help - what car it is, anything else that I might have missed - once I have a make/model I can at least ask down the street and see if anyone knows anything.

The video is at: https://youtu.be/3BhAXoCtxw4

Cheers, not a good start to the week frown

Great, thank you.

Now the next step is to print out a pic and post leaflets through everybody's door I guess...

I see what you mean, but now that it's been mentioned, they are very punto-y rear lights (at the top like volvos)...

Good spot. Can't be too many people in most streets that have that kind of work wear or wear reflective clothing in general.

no excuse for it, but surely at £360 you don't even want to have to declare a non fault claim?

Out of interest, would you say the hi-vi's jacket matched that of a postal worker? That would be very interesting if it does...
Also, who'd be driving around at that time of the morning and wearing hi vis

Do you have a local Facebook community page/group? Stick it up on there. Things like this are always posted on our one and culprits found (if they are indeed local and you live in quite a small place!)

I dont think so, also 2am would be a strange time for a postal worker to be in uniform....

I think you're looking at a generic one like this as I cant think of any uniforms that have similar arm bands - obv could be wrong. https://www.smart-trade-shop.co.uk/supertouch-hi-v...

Probably just a workie but note that there are different 'classes' of hi-viz, those whom work on the roads or railways will need to have the higher class and thus more bands and have bands round the sleeves..... obviously we cannot see if its yellow or orange hi-viz. Know any rail workers?

Reflective twin sleeve rings hints at a railworker, google NR Hi Vis clothing to see.

Sorry to be a bit boring but whats the law on CCTV covering the street?

Not sure you want to go down the path of publishing photos without knowing for sure

Good luck
