How many do you have?
Discussion
Over the last year or so I've been selling off or gifting to friends some of my watches in order to get down to what I hope is a reasonable (or perhaps, not un-reasonable) number.
I'm down to 11, being a watch box of 10 plus the one that I'm wearing.
I know that people who don't do watches will think I have 10 (or maybe even 11) too many
but I'm happy that they all get worn: some more than others obviously.
Until the cull I had never sold a watch but the new rule is that if one comes in, one has to go out. They vary from a quartz Mickey Mouse to a Breguet.
Anyway, how many do you have?

I have 9, one of which I'm selling. However I have at least another 2 or 3 i really want to add to my collection. This has made me wonder where do I stop and start moving others on. I genuinely can say they all get usage, but like you some get more than others. I think in my mind I can go to 16 and then i would have to start a 1 in 1 out process.
Mine range from Seiko (1), Christopher Ward (3) up to Omega (5).

I own 13, a number that's only likely to rise. Since properly getting into watches about 6 years ago I've never sold any. The thing is the couple of expensive ones i have (about £5k and £6k to buy new today) have sentimental value and i wouldn't sell them unless I really had to. The others are all worth <£1K each so not especially worth selling. Most get worn, but a couple are quartz with a flat battery.
What you need Voldemort is a second watch box
What you need Voldemort is a second watch box

2 proper Blancpain & 1 'marriage' Blancpain
2 Omega's 1 Brightbling & 1 (cheap old) Rolex
1 U-Boat, 1 Graham & 1 Meistersinger
4 Ball's (not sure how that's happened)
A further 9 Citizen, Seiko & various other brands
I have OCD and find it difficult to part with things (Not quite as severe as that Hoarders TV programme)
If I knew back before this obsession got out of hand what I know / feel now I'd probably have 5 ... or 6
1 Eco-Drive - Gardening/DIY 'beater' watch
1 Blancpain & 1 Omega - Both 'Grail watches
Brightbling - First 'quality' watch bought as a celebration
Choice between 'marriage'BP / Ball / Other as my 'Daily wearer'
Maybe add a birth year watch to the mix (Seiko or Rolex)
Give me the afternoon and I'm sure I can justity the other 17

25 or so I think....
Various brands and qualities.
3 x Omega
3 x Graham
2 x Smartwatches
2 x Longines
2 x Citizen
2 x Seiko
2 x Bell and Ross
U-Boat
Tag
Moser
3 x Panerai
2 x Bulova
My Dads old cheap Japanese thing.
That's all I can remember for now.
As above I hate selling things. Every time I do I regret it shortly afterwards.

I have these, plus a golf watch, a crazy watch, and a watch for knocking about in.

Wowzers that’s what £150-200k of watches in readily sellable asset / for cash.
Perfect for a divorce / if she never knows about them (keep in a safety deposit box if the worst happens you have a good starter fund if it doesn’t then happy retirement fund)

I'll stand to be corrected as it's hard to see the writing on the bezels, but I think what you're looking at there is a fair few homage watches. The 'Rolex Daytona' at the top isn't a Rolex Daytona for example.Ari said:

Absolutely. Most of my watches are homage, with an Omega, Christopher Ward, some Seikos & Orients, along with a couple of TW Steels thrown in. Total value is probably less than a Rolex SubmarinerMezzanine said:
I hope that's a typo!
No, it's not a typo.Got a similar number of clocks (switched to watches when I ran out if room for more clocks).
Got way more Scalextric cars, mostly unused.
Almost as many unstarted model kits.
I think I might have a problem!
