Removing paint from a tyre
Discussion
Hi all,
This is a bit odd, but thought I'd ask for your suggestions!
My mother is getting on a bit and no longer the greatest driver in the world. She's by no means terrible, but not the best.
Anyway, today she was parking in an underground car park and driving up to the ticket barrier to take a ticket. She rubbed her front offside tyre against the kerb and thought nothing of it.
When she parked up and got out she noticed the tyre wall is 3/4s painted yellow. Turns out the kerb she hit was wet. She mentioned it to the car park attendant and apparently quite a few had done the same thing that day.
The problem is my old mum likes her car to look pristine and is not happy with a yellow tyre wall! She wondered if you had any suggestions on how to get rid of it. She wondered if diesel may do the trick, but I'm worried chemicals on rubber are not the best idea. I suggested either wait for it to harden then drive around and it'll wear off, or get a new tyre.... neither of which she wants to do.
Any ideas gratefully received.
