I could not find anywhere on the forums an answer to my question.
I'm just fitting the TVRBHK001 or Goodridge STV0700-4C Braided hoses on my chim.
The threads for the front calipers are longer than the old hoses and I have two extra nuts. Does it matter that I have a large amount of thread left? Should I use the nuts to 'lock' it on the caliper?
Thanks,
Frostie

Just for clarity did the hose end going into the caliper have a tapered nose? If so then that just screws into the caliper until the end bottoms out into the tapered seat in the bottom of the caliper port.
If that is the case then nuts are not required and could even make the installation worse.
As an aside that type of hose fitting is known as a 'bulkhead' fitting and normally comes with a pair of nuts which is why you appear to have bits left over.

Yea they had a tapered nose (Exactly the same fitting as the old ones, just longer). The reason I got confused is that I just done the same job on my Defender and there is another mount on the hub, then it's a copper pipe to the caliper. If that is the case then nuts are not required and could even make the installation worse.

Thanks for the clarification
