Sky plus hard drive upgrade

Mrs T`s beloved sky plus has gone udders skyward again. It appears to be a problem with reading the hard drive.

Rather than get a new one, I`ve just paid a quid on ebay for some upgrade plans. Anybody else done this, and does it work?

Chances are the hard drive is faulty.

Price war = drop in quality. You pay nothing for a nice big fat hard drive now, but they're nowhere near as reliable as they once were.

I got fed up with my Sky+ disk dying and upgraded it to 250Mb myself for a hundred quid. No problems so far, and I've not got the ability to record 5 days continual TV. Not that I ever will, of course...

Just to add I have done mine, which is an Amstrad unit (ironically unlike the one in the Apprentice house) which is the easiest to do as you dont need a torx screwdriver, just a normal philips. As easy as swapping the drive from a PC and so far reliable. Try using the drives reccomended on the hummer site
