Electric toothbrush - ouch
Discussion
Spur of the moment I decided to buy an electric toothbrush. All I can say is ouch! Its the first time I've used one in 28 years. Is this normal for it to hurt and my gums to bleed from the first use?
They do feel clean though! Bit annoyed at the price of things though...£30 for the brush (half price at work and discount as well) but £20 for replacement heads! How often do they need replacing?!

The reason they’re hurting is due to longstanding plaque induced inflammation, either gingivitis or periodontitis. Now they’re finally getting a decent clean, they’re annoyed. Stick at it though, bleeding will resolve after 10-14 days as they become healthier. And make sure you’re seeing a dentist regularly.
i bought my first electric toothbrush afew months ago, i had never owned one before.
yes, the first day or 2 the vibrations seemed abit much to bare and very strange. my gums didn't like it but it felt so much cleaner then using a manual brush. it went away after that. my model has a light that comes on to warm if you're brushing too hard, though you can tell if you're doing it as the motor slows down slightly.

We've gone onto FairyWill off Amazon and heads are half price of Braun, Phillips etc, just as good as our earlier electric brushes.
