E91 headlight washers sticking

Has anyone come across an issue with an E90 or E91 where the headlight washers work, but then don't retract in fully?
They push in freely enough, but don't return by themselves - they stay out by about 35mm. I have to keep remembering to check after using it at night in case some scrote thinks it's funny to break them off. Bit annoying.
