Leaky Gearbox T5 Model

I appear to be losing fluid from this unit (haven't looked where from yet?) but can smell when parked up. Any idea's as to where it is common to leak from, or could this be anywhere? The car is a 96 P plate. Any tips appreciated, thanks in advance...

if it is the unit leaking then all thats happened is the sealer sandwiched between the housing joints has perished and oil has forced it out-the easiest way to overcome this is to remove the box-stip the box,clean and reseal.This will cure it.........dont be talked into a new box main dealer trick

It may not be leaking, after a spirited drive I can smell gear oil also. I’ve checked carefully and I don’t have any leaks. I put it down the diff breather, which I seem to remember being discussed some time back.
