Hi,
Have a 1997 4.5 and got a problem.
The battery went completely flat a week or so ago. luckily I hadn't fastened the bonnet so was able to buy a new battery and fitted it today.
Then tried to get in the car. The mirror buttons didn't work. Armed and then dis-armed the Cobra alarm. Still couldn't get in the car. Managed eventually to get in the boot and pull the door releases. Once inside I could fire up the car but still the doors and windows wont work.

Anyone any ideas ?

Thanks,
Graham

Usual trick is to disconnect the door control box located on the top of the fuel tank for a few minutes and as I found out today, check your fuses too hehe

Thanks for the reply Byff.
I'll go and check the fuses and disconnect/ reconnect the control box.

If you have done all the straightforward stuff, get a multimeter and measure from black wire on the plug with 2 wires in it the red wire in the same plug. You should have 12v. Then put a probe on same black wire and other probe on the pink wire on the largest plug with lots of wires in it on the same control unit. Make sure the alarm is disarmed and you should find that there is No voltage at all, IE ground potential. If you see any voltage then there is a problem with the alarm. If its at ground potential and all other factors have been checked, then its a control unit fault.
