If you think you contract a mild form of malaria, and then recover, are there any possible long term effects, and is it worth going to the doc's to get anything?
There are a number of different types of malaria. The good news is if you had one of the worst types you probably already be dead. I would suggest you get to the docs & get a correct diagnosis then they can advise. If it helps make up your mind, I had a colleague contract malaria in India & recovered. a fair few years later he died prematurely from complications resulting from that initial dose of malaria.

You don't actually know if you've had malaria or not? Did you take any malarial prevention medication? It sounds like you should go and get yourself checked out for your own piece of mind and also to eliminate the possibility of having contracted something nasty other than malaria
