To mot not to mot?.
Discussion
Right , bear with me on this one,
Sunday morning, Jag xf in for mot tomorrow evening, I'll give it a wash underneath and put more mot friendly plates back on.
Looking on drive I think ' wonder when the wifes evoque is due test' as i thought it is looming, go on DVLA website, it won't recognise registration the car has been driving around on and taxed and insured on for 6 months!
Put old reg in , bingo, to find "MOT OVERDUE MAXIMUM FINE and all that! " Was due March 4th ( Was on holiday and car was in garage so no bother.)
No worries I can book that for tomorrow first thing and she can get it done on way to work.
Go on dva (northern Ireland ) mot booking site, IT recognises new (6 months) Number plate but not old one.
So I book it for tomorrow am, but then it won't let me confirm and pay as it says " first mot due 4/3/19.
To sum up English DVLA say mot is due but on old reg only, as we don't recognise new reg ( even though we'll happily take your road tax payment for new reg). So get it mot'd.
Northern Ireland DVA says we recognise the car as being on the new registration not the old one but will not mot for a further 12 months! As it not needed.
Obviously phone calls are needed and the wife is in a panic now, I am a little ore relaxed about the situation ( shoulder shrugs)
Just wondering if anybody has had similar problems.
Regards
Fy

Why do people do this with number plates?
Most people gave up with scrawling their crush's initials on their schoolbook or pencilcase around the middle of secondary school.
Notice also that the plate says "JAGUAR XF" in weeny letters on the bottom, just in case you happen not to notice the 5m long Jaguar XF-shaped lump of metal attached to the plate. Or maybe it's to help it find its way home if it falls off?

Because of a vain assumption that they think other people will care that (I'm guessing here) TB wuvs RB vewwy, vewwy much. And, I presume, there's something similar but reversed on their other car.

You really do come across as a miserable old git sometimes...Most people gave up with scrawling their crush's initials on their schoolbook or pencilcase around the middle of secondary school.

I'm contemplating getting a plate for when I swap the Insipid for something shiny, new, and with pictures of cats on it.
The plate will most likely have mine and SWMBO's initials on it.

If you think that's sad, then tough! I've got no choice about getting old, but I refuse to grow up

The plate will however be legally spaced and in the correct font, along with the other legal requirements for a number plate.

I'm with TooMany2CVs on this. Illegal and misleading spacing is bad enough, but that font is really awful. OP, I'm sure you're a decent bloke, but nothing screams "moron" more than plates like this.
Yep chavvery at it's finest. That plate looks well and truly s
t. Illegal too so hope you get pulled by Plod.Putting own vanity above the law.
Likely personality disorder/ small penis syndrome...

Ha ha ,
Blimey I may have asked for that, who knows or cares?
Yes the number plate on the other car is a reversal of this!
Chavery? Least chavvy person around.
Love my wife? Absolutely ! Couldn't afford to swap her!
Small penis? Compared to yours, maybe, ask your wife.
My personal hate is front foglights on all the time.
But opinions are like arris holes.

More personal to me and my wife.
I understand a lot of people frown on this, but I couldn't care less.
It means something to me and is only relevant to those who know me, and not the majority of people.
And believe it or not most people don't care, which I am fine with!
So your Wife and you have the initials TB/RB. The X indicates your love for one another. You’ve miss-spaced the plate to make absolutely sure people realise you have a cherished plate. I understand a lot of people frown on this, but I couldn't care less.

You may not care, you may think others may not care. But you know the law cares because you know it’s an MOT failure. So you have a second, legal set. By the way, your preferred set seems to be missing “BSAU 145d” and the postcode of the plate manufacturer. But hey, you don’t care, right?
I’ll bet you’d care if the DVLA withdrew the plate from you for constant miss-spacing.
Believe me, I'm not bragging about having an evoque.
Jags still quite nice tho.
Wish I'd never asked now.
I've taken absolutely no offence at anybody's comments,
Enjoyed some of them, but I've more things to worry about than being adored by toomanycvs.
And besides that I have my fingers in my ears so I can't hear you naaaanaaaannaaaaa.
