throttle cable ??

If you put one end in the freezer you should just be able to push it all they way through before it expands.

Don't put it all in the freezer though as then it'll be too short.

Feeezer ? Huh..

..my throttle cable just went straight in, one end thourght the existing hole in the bulkhead, a quick routing of cable across the engine, then clip it into the throttle assembly. The other end, slot plastic bit into slot in the top of the pedal from inside the car.

Skill level: 1

Tools required: Flat screwdriver to remove clip holding cable in place at "engine" end.

Time: took me about 5-6mins but I had a cup of tea at the same time, reckon I could do it in under 2 if I had to.

This is a road side job not requiring any tools whatsoever....

To make it a really good job then you should be applying sealant around the rubber bung in the bulkhead to ensure no water ingress and trickle oil down the cable before installating to assist its movement.

Been there done that, just outside Le Mans. About 5-10mins. A screwdrive is handy, the slot in the pedel had been squoshed together.

The throttle cable set up on the S is some what poor. There have been many reports and stories of folk who have found they chaff or eventually break. The way TVR have routed the cable and attached the ends leaves a lot to be desired. So I modified mine with 100% success. I had a company called Spot On Cables to manufacture me a bespoke unit (they make cables for the F1 boys amongst others)Once fitted, the peddle is now silky smooth and doesn't wear like the standard item.If any one wants details, I could take some pickies and post them.

Sorry, I was joking... too excited about going away for the weekend. The inference in the question was that it came as a bare wire and that it must be threaded through the existing casing which is, of course, not the case as you get the cable already inserted in the black case when you buy it.
