I'm not missing anything am I? 3 10mm hex bit bolts, and off? I am thinking they are just very tight (twisted a 3/8" breaker head trying to undo one).. Might be easier to get the upright off the car an into a vice.. Going to order a long 1/2" 10mm allen head socket.

Its just the three bolts, but as you've found you need good quality 1/2" tools and some ignorance. Get the whole assembly off the car and into a vice. A little heat should help if you haven't got an impact gun.

Plenty of brute force and ignorance here, 1/2" impact socket on the way.. Just wanted to check I wasn't missing something before I add more ignorance..

You may need to drift it from the back. They are tight in the hole any way so a bit of force to break the inevitable rust.
