I'm approaching the end of my 1st years lease (on a 2 yr deal) on the S5 and have received the £450 RFL Tax renewal form in the post.

It shows the title holder as VWFS, but my address listed.

I've checked my signed Fleetsauce order form and that states RFL is included, along with RAC cover, and doesn't qualify that its only for 12 months.

I know the initial monthlies went up as the car didn't get registered until after the vehicle Tax hike last year, and I assumed this covered the RFL for the Term.

Can anyone please advise/confirm whether the replacement RFL will still arrive in the post via VWFS, and its just DVLA covering themselves - or whether its best to take this up with either the Broker or VWFS directly now?

TIA.

AFAIK lease deals always come with RFL included.

Surprised you got anything in the post - isn't the V5 in the name of VWFS? My Octavia lease is via VWFS and I didn't receive a thing when the 1 year mark passed.

My dad recieved a courtesy letter from VWFS informing him that the vehicle had been taxed for another year.

Hmm, ok thanks.

I'll give it a couple of weeks to see if I receive a letter before calling VWFS

OK, so after several calls to VWFS and being put on hold for ages I finally got through today, 2 days before the Tax expires (ahead of an Easter Bank Holiday..!)

It turns out that the vehicle has been registered to my address. (I assumed when I read the V5 that that was the norm!).

Is this a common issue?

So I now have to send off the V11 & V5 by recorded delivery for them to re-register the car and Tax it ASAP.

Glad I chased them down, bit of a ball ache though.

Oh, and anyone want to buy an S5 Sportback - Only one private owner..! wink

It is unusual for the leasee to be recorded on the V5C, it is normally the lessor.
