A former customer was due in front of the magistrates today after being caught toking on a crack pipe whilst driving.....
I've seen the listing on CourtServe, but any idea where I can find the sentencing? Lawpages looks like it hasn't updated much recently.

I suspect that he may well be trying to get a vehicle again soon either using false ID or hiring via a third party which I want to protect myself a bit.

Ring the court and ask. It's public information.

The court have emailed me back - 2 year ban, fine and must comply with a Drug rehab order.

I've also heard that he was caught again before being sentenced but 100 miles from the first incident. I wonder how the court will deal with the second offence.

Minimum 3 year disqualification period for a relevant second offence.

On a similar/yet different stance. Can you find out what someone has been sentenced for...?

I have a distant relation that is inside (as the family have talked about visiting him). No-one knows, or provides the information as to why.

He was about 19/20 when he went to live Barnsley (code!), and he's not been back for around 8 years now. So assume it was something serious.

What gets you at least 8 years inside, and how can I find out. All the usual google searching, with various terms brings back nothing...!

If you don't know where someone is, and all you have is a name and home location, can you find out what happened...?

Search the local newspaper website? Local to where he lived beforehand, naturlich.

Possibly, but if someone did that in your car, you'd probably be interested in the outcome too!

If somebody has done 8 years inside, then it was at least a 16 year sentence.

That narrows you down to murder, manslaughter (16 years is a very high end for that, particularly 8 years ago), rape, top level drug dealing, a very messy s.18, maybe a 3 strikes burgular?

He could have a s.41 hospital order, or 8 years ago I think those IPP's were the order of the day, meaning you could be serving a very long time for a whole range of 'dangerous' offences.
