Hi all,

My current 2 year leased Yeti 1.4 TSI l&k is coming to an end. VW have offered me the car for £16500 (up from £15500 a month ago) but I don’t fancy it as I’ve found the car too juicy for the 10mile school run round trip.

I’ve found leasing to be a painless process but I think 2 years is too short for my young family so I’m now looking at car for the long term.

- deal 1 is a VW Tiguan 1.4Tsi 150 DSG 4 motion on a 24 month lease 9 x 23 for £181pm in white. This is a good deal for this type of car and there’s a good chance that I will get an offer to buy in 2 years.

Total spend - £6077 purchase price unknown (Parker’s value circa £20k)

Deal 2 is a new Ford S Max 2.0 tdci st Line for £26k. PCP of £5k plus £250 per month over 38 months. GFV of £12k. List for this car is £32k and my intention would be to buy the car at the 38 month point.

Total spend including GFV = £26479

Any advice greatly appreciated

Go for a 3 year lease? A modern 4WD SUV for a couple of hundred notes a month and no RFL, or big maintenance costs has gotta be appealing.
