Interesting ebay / Amazon business model !!
Discussion
Hi all
Recently ordered something from an ebay seller priced at £10.22 with free delivery.
Most places the item was for sale (including Amazon) at £7.99 + postage which took it above the ebay price so naturally went via ebay seller.
Next day, said item arrives via Amazon Prime as a 'gift'.
Day after item marked as dispatched by ebay seller.
I guess that the ebay seller has an Amazon Prime account (free next day delivery remember) and has just ordered the item direct from them to be delivered to me.
So ebay seller gets £10.22 but pays only £7.99 so £2.23 profit (not taking into account prime cost and ebay business fees)
I'm not bothered as it's a low value item though not sure what the seller would do if item was faulty or needed returning.
Not sure if this is illegal though probably against Amazon T & Cs?
Sort of entrepreneurial though?
Over to you lot for comment.

Or they're using the fulfilled by Amazon service where a seller sends all their products to an Amazon warehouse and let them take care of the shipping and logistics.
I thought this initially but there was nothing to say fulfilled by Amazon. Maybe there never is?All there was inside was a slip with the Amazon order and an enjoy your gift message....
Actually, after search ebay and fulfilled by Amazon you may be correct. Well done and thanks !
However, I guess what I first said could be done?

I had the same with a tablet that I ordered from Amazon. It arrived a couple of days later from PC World.
Somewhat unbelievably, it was £30 cheaper from PC World so clearly somebody had noticed and was making a nice little earner on this. I was mildly miffed at first but then figured that they had done their research better than me so fair play to them, although I do wonder as above how easy it would be to return or get fixed if it ever went wrong.

Amazon take around 12.5% from the seller, so this seems unlikely doesn't it?Somewhat unbelievably, it was £30 cheaper from PC World so clearly somebody had noticed and was making a nice little earner on this. A few years ago, when I was a student, play.com first started up and you could buy cheap CD's from the channel islands for a lot less than the mainland.
Before it became widely known about and advertised, a friend was selling cheap CD's on ebay, and fulfilling the order directly from play. He'd make a couple of quid per CD. Quite labour intensive, but he made a few quid out of it.
