Which 5 Series?

I am starting to get fed up with my 330d X Drive and fancy something more comfy and quicker.

Looked down the F10 M5 route, but having missed out on the perfect example due to faffing around worrying about running costs, I’m conceded that they probably aren’t for me just yet.

Started looking at G30 540i But evo reckons the 530d is the better proposition. Really?!

So gone from a 560hp V8 monster, back to potentially another 3.0 diesel which feels depressing

Appreciate any thoughts on what is the best engine in the new 5.

Budget £40k, 30mpg would be nice, do 15k pa. Don’t want a 3 or a 4, want to get into at least a 5. And only BM!

Probably beneath your desire but I’m regularly surprised by e60 545.

It’s plenty fast but can do 30mpg on a run and is comfortable and easy going when just cruising. It’s crazy these go for £4K.

As your not getting much response can I put something to you? On sytner used car site is a 2 year old Alpina B4 £36k low miles (your limit is £40) ,your looking for a comfy 5 ride ,I bet this will be better and it will shift ..just a thought.....
