F11 520d drivetrain error?
Discussion
Just need to know whether anyone else has experienced this.
When driving on a light or trailing throttle i get an intermittant jerky period thats best descibed as being like running out of fuel, this is corrected by flooring the throttle or backing off then back on. It does this sometimes around every five minutes and sometimes only onece or twice in an hour. About every twentieth time this happens i will get a dash error “drivetrain error”. And the car will go into partial limp mode with reduced power. This will clear after re-start.
I used my code reader and it gave several EGR valve errors, so i removed and cleaned the valve and it got better for a couple of days and then its back again.
I will take the car to the garage next week and see what they suggest but didnt want to blindly go ahead with exepensive type diagnosis if not required. I had thought of a remap with EGR delete but dont know much about that and whether i would be facing emissions problems come mot time?
Suggestions or recomendations for a good mechanic in the Birmingham area much appreciated.

Tried the two bottles of cleaner and that didn't work.
Decided to look at changing the EGR valve and to my amazement they are only £43 from BMW! Considering Vauxhall wanted £17 for a bolt last week I couldn't believe it.
Anyway, an hours work later and the problem seems to be fixed, engine is now smooth as silk with no hesitancy and no more error codes, fingers crossed that it's all sorted.

This sounds exactly like an issue I'm currently having on a 320i 2012. Did you get longer start-ups too and an engine light? Did the issue affect you more during journeys where you stopped and started a lot?
Yours is a 320i, petrol; so different issues reallyBest to start your own thread and go from there
