Anyone stayed with sierramtb?
Discussion
I’m here at the moment until Monday, it’s cheap and cheerful. Fry up every morning, free booze all evening. Poolside villa is nice to sit out front with a beer post ride.
The riding is really good on the mountain behind Mijas, group very mixed ability. This is where it falls down a bit at present as 3 guides have left & one of them I think was key to its success. He has now setup MTB Mallorca. So now there is only 1 Guide a young chap who is only just learning the trails and the owners son (who is on an eBike).
This is the 2nd time I’ve come here the 1st time I would have reported back brilliant as the guide was excellent he was fast so I was able to follow him in and ride the trails blind & fast and he gave loads of great pointers and advice to people in the group. Now I’m being sent down tracks 1st which I don’t mind as the guide realised I was spending time sat behind him dragging my brakes and I did ride them the year before. Also I’m not hearing any tips or advice being given to the rest of the group other than where big dangers are.
Some rides are a little repetitive as many you end at the villa so the last 6km or so is often the same route following a path next to the river.
So I’d say over all at present if you are fast you may did it frustrating. If you are a newbie you may find yourself following an eBike along fire roads. If you are average it probably works quite well as you can do the proper trails and it will be challenging in a fun way. It’s all riding rocks.
For what you pay you won’t beat it.
