Nice color Cliff! Just that I have the same in my Z !!
Mine is yellowoutside/black leather/yellow LT5.
The guy in the picture wearing a green polo shirt is in fact Marc Haibeck, he is the one that is rebuilding my engine, it is going to be a tricked 402.
Good luck with your rebuild Cliff, remember me if you need any help.

Thanks for the photos brett, gives me some idea of what its gonna look like
Jordi i kinda forgot your motor is Yella, how far have you got with your motor is it in the States yet,why the 402 route,is that the stroker without the bore taken out??,what sort of numbers are you hoping for?
Marc has got a top reputation for the LT5,i think your gonna be more than pleased, like me you deserve it after all the sodding around weve been thru with the specialist, you know i cant prove it but aftr pulling my gearbox ime damn sure its not the one that came with the car originally,at some stage it looks like it has been swapped, its a MESS!!,drain/fill plugs with things that look like plumbers plugs even gaskets installed badly like the one below.
The good thing is ime going thru the car and straightening it all out, thanks for the offer of help ,i might take you up on it

Thanks Bryan, when its all back together i will post some photos on the corvettemechanic site

The car number should be stamped in the gearbox too, at least mine is (91 number 1337), look down in the gearbox main case. This is how I noticed that the "specialist" sold me MY OWN gearbox just changing the shifter and claiming it was another unit, he told me that the "old one" would not hold the "outrageous power" that my engine was going to make :-(
I am going with a 402 because I think it is a good compromise between power and reliability, it uses my old 368 liners together with a bigger stroke crank and revised pistons, it is just like a 415 except with a bit less stroke. It has a bit less velocity in the piston travel and a bit less rod angle at BDC (less stress in the liner walls) and the pistons have more meat than those in a 415 and have wider gap between the oil rings (better oiling control). All that mean better durability with only a negligible loss in hp compared to a 415 or 4** like yours :-)

Man i cant believe how that specialist took so many people in.
I think Julio had a 402 woth nitrous that made exceptoinal power,is it a 4" stroke??

This is absolutely disgusting treatment (again) by the "specialist" - how some people can sleep at night is beyond me.
By the way i know how you feel amongst many other things, part of my original deal was a single phase flywheel and aftermarket clutch, when the motor blew the 1st time and the engine came apart guess what!..........stock flywheel and stock clutch!!
Thats why i am being perfectly clear to everyone that reads this and past posts on my work, think twice before this guy ever works on another enthusiasts car.

Crikey - until I read your post Cliff I was going to suggest maybe the internals had been changed - but looks like your thoughts probably the case then (excuse the pun).
Brental - have you finished that room yet? Remember if you're running out of time you can always forego sleeping...

like it,but just how much did he charge you for your own gearbox?
