Tenants in common trust dead
Discussion
I have a trust dead regarding a shared ownership property which sets out the beneficial interest of the two parties and that they are tenants in common.
Having now executed it, does it need to be filed anywhere official (like the land registry) or just in my filing cabinet at home?
Thanks
Bert

If the transfer that was used when you acquired the property had the 'joint tenants' box ticked then you should arrange for the severance of the joint tenancy to be registered. This is because currently, the restriction on a title that gives the world notice that it's held as joint tenants (which starts "no disposition by a sole proprietor ...") will be absent.
It's probably most efficient to get a solicitor to do this for you - it should be a formality so minimal fees, and if you want to do it yourself you're looking at £60 each for the process you'll need to go through just to establish your ID for the Land Rwgistry.
