What car for arctic road trip

Hi a friend & myself are planning a road trip, what started out as a rather tame trip down to Spain in my Volvo has ended up (after a few pints) as a trip to Scandinavia and back. We are flying to Helsinki in May and will be buying a 1960 classic car, we will then have 10 days to drive up to the arctic circle then back down through Sweden, Denmark, Germany and France to get to the tunnel and back to UK.

We were both born in the 60s so want a 60s car (seemed a reasonable idea at the time) it will need to do approx 3000 miles to get us home, our budget is around €5000 we intend to sell the car when we return.

So what are the collective thoughts on a suitable car to buy that will get us home?

A Volvo Amazon without doubt. Tough, reliable, and you are going where spares will always be available.
