R8 for the UK??

Does anyone know if Vauxhall have plans to import the HSV R8 Saloon in the near future?

my contacts at vauxhall say no.My clubsport is nearly through red tape,its taking alot of time and patience

I personally think a 4-door should be over here in 2007 at the earliest

From various internet sites there is talk that the Monaro will not produced after 06 as OZ will no longer make it and GM US who where planning on producing it as the GTO from 06/07 may decide not to give the go ahead for US production due to GM USA basically being in the S***.
It would seem that if the UK is to get something HSV like it would have to be 4-door or 2-door pickup, this would not be lightly before late 06 as the new VE Commodore (possibly loosely based on the Opel Insignia) is due mid 06 and HSV usually run a couple of months later.
Really Vauxhall should think about the whole range, a decent sized rear wheel drive with engines from 2.6V6 up tp 6.0L V8s and reasonable prices, yeah I know will never happen
