I am looking at doing some work abroad, but i need to print images straight away, i am looking for a rough cost per print of an 8 x 6 image including ink, paper etc.

and recomended printers/paper for the best quality and cost compromise. i will need to possibly print up to 10 x 8

thanks a lot.

Most of us here seem to use Epson. Certainly the paper wins all the awards for 'colour retention over time'. I sell mounted A3 photos, and none of the punters even suspect that it's a digital camera and an ink jet printer.

Photo printers cost about £100 upwards.

A4 paper is about a tenner for 50 sheets (if you buy from the net) and ink... well it depends which printer, but at a total guess I reckon I use about 20p - 30p of ink per A4 in best res.

I have the Epson 2100 (and also a 1290) which both do A3. I think The 800 only does A4... I guess check out www.epson.com

Have fun
