As above, just wondering does this mean I need a new sensor (is the sensor broken and then the fuse is blowing) or does it man there is a wiring fault which is causing me to have an engine light on?

When replaced, the fuse turns the light out, after a few mins - fuse blows, light is back on, and OBD reader says camshaft sensor fault.

Anyone know where I should start?

Are you able to post what vehicle and engine the camshaft sensor is fitted to?

A reputable and competent mechanic ?

Or at least give some bloody details of the vehicle, history, exactly what fuse you're replacing etc etc ( it seems almost every thread here recently is as vague as a politician with information )

And more often than not, ignore what cheap generic OBD code readers are telling you as they will mislead, especially an inexperienced person.

A new camshaft sensor isn't going to blow the fuse on its own.
Suspect a short somewhere, eroded insulation allowing the conductor to contact earth or similar.
Trace the cable and inspect.
