The Tesla Model S? However it's fairly rare that 4 door saloons become classics compared to more exotic models.

Surely the humble milk float. As much a classic now as series 1 Landies.

Actually guys, it happened even further back than that, some 120 years ago, back in 1898 thanks to the Lohner-Porsche hybrid four wheel drive

I know you said exclude one offs etc but I saw a SAAB 95,no not a 9-5 at the weekend with electric motor instead of ancient V4.
Tha info sheet,in German,I think said it was converted in 2012 and has covered 30,000 KMs since then,which is quite impressive.

This is powered by electricity, I saw it in Parliament Square a couple of weeks ago. I know strictly speaking it's a one-off but it's only its motive power that's 'unusual'. Info here: http://londonelectriccars.com
