Picked up a 2003 Nissan almera 1.5, all is good except a high ish clutch and I have a delay on the throttle And rev hang, can tap the throttle down and get my foot off the peddle back to my chair before it starts to go up, also when coming off the throttle for a gear change I have to slowly lift my foot or wait about 2 seconds after lifting off as the revs hang....

When releasing the clutch it's either that I'm not used to the clutch or it's not quite right as the bite point seems pretty high and there's not much in the way of clutch there, It's almost on or off
Any ideas what can cause this?

Had a service just before I purchase it with new plugs and filter and such

120k miles on the clock runs smooth other than that

Could the car be an early "drive by wire" throttle?

Also sounds like you need a new clutch.

There's your problem, they are sh!t if you are expecting the same responses as a wired accelerator to throttle. You will have to "learn" to drive round it's peculiarities.

Ahh well that sucks... the delayed response and rev hang makes it hard to give it some beans, almost a deal breaker on keeping it

No, the knackered clutch is nearly a deal breaker, if it has a DMF & that needs changing too it will be around £1000 to fix.

it may not even be the clutch it may be the rev delay that im fighting with constantly, would be nice to put my foot down and go rather than having to plan a week in advance
