Service history in miles and Km?
Discussion
Looking at a potential purchase (Ferrari 599 '07 model) and going through the service history it seems that some of the services are recorded in Miles and some recorded in Km. I would be more suspicious but for the following: The car is one owner and all the services were carried out by the supplying dealer and it is they who are looking to sell it to me.
They have not replied with an answer to my question. So I am asking on this forum, if any of you have ever experienced this before?
It's a mystery to me so far..

In MX5 world (quite a bit different to 599's
) the import cars that came from Japan have MOTs and services recorded in KMs and miles (since the odometer reads in KMs). This is nothing to worry about with an MX5 (as you know the MOT man hasn't been bothered to convert the mileage) but it may well be in Ferrari world. I guess if the odometer is in KMs (I don't know) then it could be a case as I've described maybe?

The HPI check I had done 10 years ago was all over the place, some years the MOT was in KM some they had converted it into miles.
When converting back they appeared to make sense, if you converted them all to miles or KM do they tally with dates and expected usage ?

Was the car used abroad often and the onboard computer changed to KM/H and not back to MPH before the servicing ?
I would certainly want a solid answer to the question which the servicing/supplying dealer should easily be able to provide you with.
It would be easy to assume it was an import or the mileage had been clocked but that might not be the case

I can't speak for Ferrari but with Audi this isn't at all uncommon.
Services are logged centrally with Audi on a system called Erwin; your Erwin account is region specific. That is, a UK registered account is always set to 'miles', a German registered account is always set to 'kilometres'. If I service a European registered car I can only enter an odometer reading in miles. I don't have an option to switch this to kilometres. Possibly an oversight but it's the way the system works. At a glance it's slightly confusing but the entries are clearly marked miles/kilometres and need 10 seconds with a calculator to set the mind at rest.
