C7 RS6 Engine Oil Overfull warning

My father has a 2014 C7 RS6, from new it has occasionally displayed an Engine Oil Overfull warning.
Main dealers have checked this several times and managed to cure nothing.
Oil level checked multiple times etc, tried removing a very small amount etc.
Just wanted to check if this is a known issue or anyone else has encountered it?
