Considering one of the above, probably leaning more towards the 9300 as I'm not bothered about a camera. I know the 9500 has WiFi but I can live without it.

Anyone got one? Never managed to see one "in the flesh" so just wondering how bulky it is? Looks very similar to a 6310i to me? Thoughts on useage, battery life, etc would be good.

Also, does XHMTL mean you can visit 'any' site on the internet? Is it possible to "surf" as such?

Cheers,

Recently changed to a 9500 from older 9210 "brick". It's not much smaller but the more rounded edges make it feel that way in the pocket. I do use wlan a lot hence the decision not to buy 9300, but 9300 is significantly smaller. You're right, it's about the size of the 6310. If I didn't need wlan then I would choose the 9300. But then if I didn't have to choose a phone made by my employer, who knows?

Browsing the web is possible but frustrating. Speed is an issue even on a wlan connection, and the screen size makes things hard to follow for many sites.

I use mine mostly for email/VPN access wherever I am. And for that it's excellent.

I have a 9300 and agree with the above post. It's the best compromise I've yet seen in this kind of device and perfectly pocketable. There are a few frustrations, but overall I am satisfied. A 3G version of the 9300 would be close to perfect.

Cheers guys.

Does indeed seem a good option as its far more "phonelike" than most of the PDA smart phones available.

I'll probably risk one, I can always stick it on ebay if I hate it and go back to my 6310! (again!)

The camera is truly crap though on the 9500.

Smartie,

Sorry to drag this up 6 months later ... but I'm curious how you got on.

What did you go for in the end? And how has it been over the past 6-odd months?

I ask as I'm considering the same.

i got a 9300 about 2 months ago and it is easily the best phone i've ever bought. it sounds daft but its a phone i where use more than just the phone component. the email is invaluable when i'm away from my desk and because the screen is so big - its usable. the keyboard is a joy to use after silly little keyboards on other phones. i even use the web browser - the amount of drunk arguments that can be sorted when you are in the pub from a proper browser....even the lyrics for the lumberjack song during a drinking session.

since i bought mine 2 other friends have bought 9300s as well and are equally smitten.

J,

Quality reply - thank you - that's exactly the kind of info I'm after.

Basically I'm after a PDA - for diary-type stuff, with an easy to use keyboard. But then - I probably need web access for email ..... therefore other workish web stuff ... and to save carrying a phone around - I could get a 1-fits-all.

Been really struggling with this .... looking at the Nokia, then the Blackberrys, then the Palm offerings, then network offerings - the T-mobile PDA, etc, etc ....

As I say - been really struggling with this - but I think the Nokia is the way to go.

Many thanks again.

I would recommend one of these too, black, red or brown. The belt clip system is very good. From www.covertec.com
