Range Rover 3.9 V8

I’ve hankered after a Range Rover Classic for years, at the start of the year I decided to surprise my wife and get one. I did some research, asked some advice then ignored it and bought one unseen from 500 miles away.
The car itself is a one owner, 100,000 mile example that lived most of it’s life in London. The front seats are fabric, while the tears are leather, it was rear wheel drive and the drivers door doesn’t open from the inside.
It’ll be a rolling restoration to bring it back to it’s former glory. So far it’s been put back to four wheel drive and been fully serviced.

I absolutely adore these things. I think the sweet spot is a >90 Vogue SE Auto 3.9 with leather, but the hard dash before the soft dash model of 94.
I've had two, a burgundy 3.9 Vogue Auto and a blue 3.9 Vogue Manual, I'd have another in an absolute heartbeat. In fact if I had the chance of a completely sorted totally sound one that wasn't rusty, I'd seriously consider swapping my '17 M140i for one
They have such a delightful manner and presence on the road, the driving position is spot on, they go anywhere, they're utterly classless and still look fantastic today, they've aged brilliantly.

I bought mine as a car for my days off so I could take the dogs out as they don’t fit in the daily. I’ve ended up using it all the time, absolutely love it! Sell the 140, get back in one and enjoy depreciation free motoring.

An excellent choice! Such lovely old things.....i have one too and love it to bits. Any excuse for a photo or two. People really seem to have a soft spot for them and still quite usable although mine is a weekend toy. Enjoy it.

I've never had more positive reaction from other people than with this car
before that I had an In Vogue with looked more modern than it was, probably due to the colour

That is so pretty! What a lovely example. I remember a wealthy friend of mine at school - his dad had a Vogue and I went in it once. I had never been anything like that in my life - had so much presence. mine is a bit older, 82, but bought for similar reasons...dogs bikes etc

Lovely cars, I have a massive soft spot for Classic since my old man bought one when I was a young lad so 1994'ish
Ours was a little bit special, full Janspeed single turbo conversion and what I can remember went like the clappers (for its time) and sounded amazing which its single fat pipe.
From what I can remember it was a huge money pit, constantly in the garage being fixed and did about 4mpg, all this aside if anyone knows where it is then please get it touch as I would love to buy it back for myself!
