My mate is a perfectionist... he asked me a while ago to make a drain cover for his drive..., with an inspection plate to read the water meter... here it is finished, but I turned the plate around and sent him the picture...

it took all of 10 mins for the phone to ring to ask if the plate could be made to line upbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

And of course the only appropriate response to that would be.

"Possibly, but it'll cost ya."

To really piss him off you should have just told him the inspection hatch is hinged and welded on lol

At first I told him it was slightly off square and that was the only way it would fit biggrin

If he really has OCD he'd want the inspection door to be round too,to match the overall shape and the small hole.
Half a job ☺️

The whole thing is off centre, it needs to have been cut out a few more mm to the left, The hole in the square section looks off centre because of this, he's sure to notice hehe

It’s never going to be perfect because of the thickness of the cut
It has taken away material that stops it lining up

Plus it was cut slightly twisted

Fairly good effort though

Could've water jet cut it, i think thats probably the smallest cut you can get. About 0.6mm iirc

To be honest, having a friend like you is probably irritating enough for the poor chap. Why try harder?

That's a bit OTT.

I'm with the OP, it's innocent juvenile fun and I know a few people who'd have responded the same way with no malice intended.
